The
Developmental Screening Clinic is designed for parents or
caregivers who are concerned about the way their child is
developing. The screening will determine if a child
is developing as expected or needs further evaluation or
services, and will provide families with information about
services, referrals for evaluation and/or services as well
as answers to any questions. Call 919-956-5016 to make an
appointment.
Hispanic/Latino
Consultation Services
In 1996, the Council was granted funding from Durham’s
Partnership for Children to establish the Hispanic/Latino
Consultation Services program. The program provides interpretation
and translation services to Spanish-speaking families of
children with developmental delay or who are at risk for
special needs who receive early intervention services.
The
program’s main goals are to:
•
Improve the accessibility of health and early intervention
services for Spanish-speaking families by reducing the impact
of the language barrier
• Provide these families support in their effort to
obtain intervention services for their special needs child
• Help these families and community service providers
understand cultural differences related to child development
and early intervention issues
